Assembly vote on compacts bill will likely today - 2003-03-12
A Senate committee voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a bill that would give lawmakers the final say over gaming compacts negotiated between the governor and American Indian tribes that last longer than 15 years or expand gambling to off-reservation sites.

The Assembly is scheduled to vote today on its version of the bill, which the Assembly Committee on State Affairs approved Monday after a three-hour public hearing. The Senate is scheduled to vote on the bill Thursday.
