Assembly vote on compacts bill likely today - 2003-03-12
A Senate committee voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to authorize a bill that would give legislators the final say over gaming deals between the governor and American Indian tribes that last over 15 years or extend gambling to off-reservation sites.

The Assembly is planning to vote today on its version of the bill, which the Assembly Committee on State Affairs supported Monday after a three-hour public hearing. The Senate is expected to vote on the bill Thursday.
