Assembly gives go-ahead for gaming oversight bill - 2003-03-13
The state Assembly authorized a bill Wednesday night that would give the state Legislature final say over tribal gaming deals that last longer than 15 years or extend gambling to off-reservation sites.
The Assembly passed the bill 59-38. It now moves to the state Senate, which was scheduled to take it up today.

Assembly says ok to deal - 2003-03-13
The state Assembly authorized a bill Wednesday night that would offer the state Legislature final say over tribal gaming compacts that last longer than 15 years or expand gambling to sites off the reservation.

The Assembly voted 59-38 to support the bill. It now goes to the state Senate, which is expected to take it up today.
