Illegal Online Gambling Thriving - 2003-03-19
Over $2 billion will be illegally wagered by Americans through offshore Internet gambling sites this year, according to testimony Tuesday morning before the U.S. Senate Banking Committee. The panel is looking into legislation proposed by Sen. John Kyl (R.-Ariz.) to cut off American access to the sites by preventing U.S. banks, credit card companies and other Internet payment systems from making payments to gambling sites.

Legislators Against Online Gambling Tax Bill - 2003-03-19
Defenders of a ban on Internet gambling held their ground Tuesday against a budding attempt in Congress to allow states to legalize and tax virtual casinos.

Members of the Senate Banking Committee partnered with representatives of college athletics, state attorneys general and the Bush administration in condemning Internet gambling.
