Online Gambling Ban's Delay Brings Criticism - 2003-03-21
The Department of Justice drew a sharp opposition Tuesday from senators frustrated by the department's postponement in taking a position on legislation to ban online gambling.

Although the Bush administration generally advocates efforts to cut off money transfers to and from illegal Internet gambling businesses, Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Malcolm stated the Justice Department is concerned about criminal provisions in online betting bans proposed by Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., and Rep. Jim Leach, R-Iowa.

City officials stand up against gambling - 2003-03-21
City leaders have released statements to quell local accusation about a floating casino on Clear Lake as the Iowa Legislature looks at an expansion of the state's gambling industry.

If someone did, City Administrator Scott Flory stated, the city would be against gambling on Clear Lake.
