Gambling proceeds for February plunge - 2003-03-21
After months of demonstrating consistent year-to-year gains, the state's gambling revenues from Colorado's 43 casinos fell last month to $51.6 million from $57 million in February 2002.

In Central City, the total dropped to $3.7 million from $4.2 million a year earlier. And in Cripple Creek, where a casino closed last year, gambling proceeds fell to $9.99 million from $11 million in 2002.

Fed Judge Agree In Favor Of Santee Sioux Casino - 2003-03-21
A federal appeals court stated Thursday that the Santee Sioux tribe can keep the 50 or so gaming machines that make up its modest casino in Knox County.

ŒŒThis decision is seriously significant not only for the Santee Sioux tribe but tribes within the country,'' he said. ŒŒNow tribes may run certain video electronic gambling machines without having to get a tribal-state compact and without threat of prosecution from the federal government.''
