State-run Canterbury casino faces state bill test - 2003-03-22
A bill legalizing a state-operated casino that would generate more than $60 million a year for Minnesota's sagging budget faces a crucial test Monday in a Minnesota House committee.

That is because many legislators who are philosophically opposed to expanding gambling are willing to consider including a casino at the racetrack, which already allows pari-mutuel betting on horse races and a poker room.
