It's not necessary to ask Dot Houseman twice if she thinks the new coinless slot machines that spit out paper vouchers are a great thing. "I love them," said the Carson City (Nev.) retiree as she sat in front of a Triple Play Poker machine at the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno one current afternoon. "You don't have to handle coins, so your hands don't get dirty. It's no pain, no strain. They should have them in all the casinos."

Casinos End Catchy Themes As War Begins - 2003-03-24
The happy-go-lucky advertisements of Connecticut's two casinos were dropped from television airwaves due to the war with Iraq, casino officials said.

The "Come Play" and "Have yourselves a ball" slogans were omitted last week after the U.S. military campaign began in Iraq. Casino operators stated they would evaluate their marketing strategies as the war continues.
