Indian gaming brings concern to some N.Y. officials - 2003-03-25
Two hundred years ago, thousands of Indians were excluded from New York state and into the West by white men who wanted their property.

Today the descendants of those displaced Indians are returning, drawn by developers who want something the Indians possess: a near monopoly on casino gambling, guaranteed by Congress.

House panel gives racetrack casino go-ahead - 2003-03-25
By a single vote, a Minnesota House committee on Monday authorized a bill to create a state-operated casino at the Canterbury Park racetrack in Shakopee.

Lipman stated Monday that he still feels gambling is a "blight" on society.
