Casino Stocks Drop As Fight Persists - 2003-03-25
Fears of a lengthy war between the United States and Iraq caused casino and leisure stocks to fall Monday.

Las Vegas-centered companies such as MGM Mirage, Park Place Entertainment and Mandalay Bay Entertainment Group saw their shares slide by a number of percentage points.

Red Cliff ends decade-old casino plans - 2003-03-25
Ray DePerry, chairman of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, is more strong-minded than ever to complete a hotel and casino plan that began more than 10 years ago and has been postponed until now.

In 1994, the tribal community passed a referendum to construct a new casino and hotel on the lakefront across from the current casino, but because of serious financial problems in the late 1990s, the plans had to be put on hold.
