Backers insist casino won't hurt region - 2003-03-26
Supporters to a proposed Allegan County casino assembled Tuesday at the site to offer their solidarity and refute a recent study commissioned by the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce that said West Michigan would pay economically due to the gaming enterprise.

"I think it showed there is a breadth of support" for the casino run by the Gun Lake Band of Pottawatomi Indians, stated Marty Dodge, vice president of business advocacy for the Kalamazoo Area Chamber of Commerce.

Rep. Rhoades demands answers about Hudson casino - 2003-03-26
Unhappy with Department of Administration Secretary Marc Marotta’s comments about the administration’s position on off-reservation gaming, Rep. Kitty Rhoades, R-Hudson, is requesting the governor to clarify his position.

“The fight over the future of the Hudson dog track divided the city for over a decade,” stated Rhoades.
