Lady Luck smiles on A.C's casino earnings - 2004-01-10
The Borgata remains the house to beat in Atlantic City.
In the first six months it was open, the Borgata had $266 million in earnings, while several of its 11 rivals lost market share.

For all of 2003, the commission reported, total casino earnings increased 2.4 percent, but most of that increase resulted from Borgata, which opened in July and is co-owned by Boyd Gaming and MGM Mirage.

Ethics board declines to lay off casino job - 2004-01-10
A state judge on Friday maintained a Louisiana Board of Ethics stating that Calcasieu Parish police juror-elect Kevin Guidry is unable to take office while keeping his casino job.

State law prevents an elected official from doing business with a riverboat casino except as a patron, the board stated in a November opinion.
