Casino employee gets 'asthma' payout - 2004-01-12
Michael Dunn was reportedly paid close to £50,000 in an out of court settlement by Napoleon's Casino in Leicester Square, central London, where he was employed as an inspector for 14 years.

Mr Dunn, who does not smoke and was a marathon runner until he developed asthma, stated that repeatedly breathing in cigarette and cigar smoke on the gaming floor brought him to this condition.

Casino Lobbyists Threaten Consequences from State Taxation Hike - 2004-01-12
The latest "taxfest" on casinos will be counterproductive, the casino industry's top lobbyist warned lawmakers from gaming states on Friday.

Frank Fahrenkopf, head of the Washington, D.C.-based American Gaming Association, cited Illinois, which increased its top marginal tax rate to 70 percent, and prospective racino states like Maryland and Pennsylvania, where lawmakers toyed with tax rates nearing 60 percent.
