Gran hits the £265,000 poker jackpot - 2004-01-14
Grandma Flo O'Connor is rejoicing a quarter-of-a-million pounds poker jackpot - from a wager of just £1.

The 64-year-old florist intends to see the world and treat her grandchildren.
She wagered an extra £1 to enter a national collective poker game which linked her cards to 32 other casinos across the country.

Gaming on or off - 2004-01-14
Several meetings this past week in Franklin County were created as "informational," about gaming in the state.

Franklin County citizens are expected to go to the polls on Jan. 27, to vote to determine if a gaming casino riverboat should be permitted to locate in the county. Plans are to build a riverboat casino in a small body of water on Hwy. 3, just east of the intersection with Interstate Hwy. 35.
