City could hire attorney for casino - 2004-01-19
The City Council is expecting to decide Tuesday whether to hire a lawyer to assist with negotiations for the proposed Indian casino.

If authorized, the contract with attorney Dennis Whittesey of the Firm of Jackson Kelly PLLC wouldn't go beyond $10,000. BarWest LLC, the developer planning the casino with the Los Coyotes Band of Indians, has agreed to refund the city up to that total.

Burswood gets lucky on high roller tables - 2004-01-19
Burswood shares rallied after Perth's casino operator revealed an unaudited first half operating profit of around $23 million.

It also credits its turn-around to powerful results in its domestic gaming operations, especially from the casino's electronic games which feature offerings like "crazy balls" and "mountain chief".
