Violence explodes at casino - 2004-01-22
A man was killed and another seriously wounded in a battle at a video lounge at Caesars Gauteng on Tuesday night, police stated.

Captain Sophie Mayisela stated that at least four men, who seemed to be of Chinese origin, got into a scuffle minutes before midnight at the video lounge in the casino complex.
Following the altercation, which she claimed did not involve any weapons, one of the men was pronounced dead by the casino's medical staff.

Huge casino wins dent Stanley's revenues - 2004-01-22
British betting firm Stanley Leisure has reported a 13% drop in first-half profit after some punters had big wins at its key Crockfords casino.

Stanley, which manages 41 casinos and more than 600 betting shops, stated today that profit prior to tax and goodwill dropped to £21.5m (€31.1m) in the six months to October 26.
