Proposals for a harness racing/casino facility in the northern suburbs and for a huge casino close to the Mall of America to endorse college scholarships will be among the gambling plans fighting for a hearing at the state Capitol within the upcoming legislative session.

Another would correct what its author indicates are inequities in how Indian gaming dollars are allocated, by permitting two northern Minnesota tribes to create a casino in the more lucrative metropolitan market only if they share profits with the state.
