First Move Taken in Shinnecock Casino Case - 2004-01-23
The word "casino" was mentioned but once in a pretrial hearing yesterday as lawyers for the Shinnecock Nation assembled on one side of a U.S. District courtroom and attorneys for the federal, state and Southampton community governments sat on the other.

"This is much more than a casino issue," Shinnecock tribal trustee Lance Gumbs declared in the Central Islip courtroom.

Racy Hard Rock casino ads raise eyebrows - 2004-01-23
Nevada gaming regulators have attacked the Hard Rock Hotel and its marketing campaigns, charging in a three-count complaint that the boutique property's sexually suggestive advertising reflects badly on the gaming industry and the state.

Kelley stated that he'd like regulators to inform operators of what they don't want to see in casino advertisements.
