$490M proposal to purchase Wembley - 2004-01-28
Gambling titan MGM Mirage has proposed $490 million cash to buy Wembley PLC, the London-based gaming company whose assets include four Colorado racetracks.

Greg Feehley at Altium Securities stated MGM has been looking at the United Kingdom for the past year as a potential growth market as the government heads to lift limits on slot-machine payouts and end rules that make it mandatory for gamblers to be club members.
