Lottery machines back in operation - 2004-01-03
Three local businesses reopened their doors Friday after a New Year's Day clampdown by the West Virginia Lottery Commission on advertising video gambling.

The Associated Press reported Thursday that the West Virginia Lottery Commission shut down 147 terminals at 33 locations statewide, including three in Mercer County. The three businesses were the Club Casino in Princeton, Cadillac Jack's in Bluewell and Aces and Eights Casino in Brushfork.

Borgata grabs business of A.C. rivals in first half-year - 2004-01-03
The slot machines at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa won't accept coins. Not only that, they have footrests built in, for comfort's sake.

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, shown May 28, is located in Atlantic City's marina district, whereas most other casinos are on the boardwalk.
The parking garage has speed ramps that serve each floor, an improvement over the dizzying mazes encountered by drivers at other casinos.
