The shortest showbiz marriage in history finished today just a few hours after it began when pop diva Britney Spears' "joke" wedding to a childhood friend was annulled.

Distraught Britney burst into tears hours after marrying Jason Alexander in Las Vegas, and wailed: "Oh my God what have I done!"

Wearing torn jeans and a baseball cap, the singer was escorted to the altar of the gambling city's famous Little White Wedding Chapel by her limo driver.

Tribe runs ads supporting expansion - 2004-01-05
The Ho-Chunk Nation will disburse about $140,000 in advertising on Madison television stations to try to convince voters to support expanding a bingo hall into a casino in the city, a newspaper reported.

The Capital Times of Madison reported Saturday that the commercials will begin Jan. 26 and continue through Feb. 17, the day of the referendum in which the public will vote on whether the bingo hall should become a casino.
