Local casino group should stay in race - 2004-01-06
A consortium that wants to put a riverboat casino in Crestwood may drop its plans to bid for the state's only available license.

The Southland consortium announced in November that it was working with Trump Hotel and Casino Resorts on a plan that included competing for the only existing license that's currently unassigned. Staff writer Kristen McQueary reported Sunday that Trump and the consortium may shift their focus to seeking a new license, if the Legislature creates additional licenses.

Developer hops on casino with city - 2004-01-06
Chicago's top industrial developer has come on board to help bring a casino and entertainment complex to Country Club Hills, officials involved in the project disclosed Monday.

CenterPoint Properties of Oak Brook has agreed to develop 300 acres at Interstates 80 and 57 where city officials hope to build a casino, golf course and entertainment complex.
