A video slot machine arcade won city permission Tuesday to operate in a strip mall, while a debate goes on statewide on whether such operations are a form of illegal gambling.

City commissioners will consider prohibiting more of the so-called arcade amusement centers in the city for four months. That would allow for the outcome of a court case examining the legality of the machines and the arcades.
