Bets Are On for Growth Of Mobile-Gambling - 2004-01-08
Worldwide revenues for gambling on mobile phones will hit $16bn (£9bn) by 2008, with mobile casino, lottery and sports gaming consisting of the bulk.

A report by consultants Alexander Resources -- Mobile Gambling: Casinos, Lotteries & Betting -- has predicted that 2.5G and 3G technologies and phones will play a "prominent" role in the growth of mobile gambling.

Negotiator chosen for gambling talks - 2004-01-08
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday picked as his lead negotiator for new tribal gambling agreements the man who held the same position six years ago, when then-Gov. Pete Wilson clashed with many state tribes over how big Indian casinos could become.

Daniel Kolkey, who stepped down in November from a seat on a California appellate court, said he planned to begin talks with tribes next week in an effort to fulfill Schwarzenegger's campaign promise to get the tribes to turn over up to 25 percent of their slot-machine revenues to the state.
