Leary of investigators' questions, King backs out casino - 2004-01-08
Don King has requested to withdraw his application for a license in New Jersey because he is unwilling to adress questions about his dealings with former International Boxing Federation chairman Bob W. Lee.

On Tuesday, King's lawyers filed a petition formally seeking withdrawal of King's pending application for a license to do business with New Jersey casinos. It was originally filed April 24, 2002.

Regulators recommend only 1-year license for Golden Nugget casino owners - 2004-01-08
The Nevada Gaming Control Board recommended the new owners of the Golden Nugget hotel-casino properties get only a temporary gambling license after asking questions about one of the owner's dealings with a strip club operator.

The casino's owners, Timothy Poster and Thomas Breitling, endured more than two hours of grilling Wednesday before the regulatory board unanimously voted to recommend a one-year license. Most licenses are awarded permanently.
