Budget speech may actually get legislators moving - 2004-02-01
The count of legislation presented in the 103rd General Assembly neared the 3,000 mark last week, but a conspicuous number appears to be "brochure bills" produced mainly for political public relations purposes.

The income tax and casino gambling bids aren't officially bills. Rather they are resolutions asking for amendments to the state Constitution.

Las Vegas, as reported by the city’s wholesome Web site, is the fastest-growing place in the United States. It boasts a diverse population, fantastic weather, low taxes, 24-hour entertainment and, from glowing accounts that have originated from those who have paid a visit, it’s a cool place to spend a vacation.

The Women’s NBA even have a team owned by and based at a casino resort in Connecticut. But no-one appears to bother regarding that.
