Kansas gov. to make expanded gaming the focus - 2004-02-10
In a move that represented her refreshed support for the extended gambling in Kansas, Governor Kathleen Sebelius revealed plans to draft her own proposal for casino-style gaming that will probably feature gaming machines for the states racetracks, including the Woodlands in Kansas City.

One concern that has held up former expanded gambling proposals in the past has been the infighting among competitive gambling advocates.

AGA president to tackle legislators in Las Vegas - 2004-02-10
Frank Fahrenkopf Jr., president and chief executive of the American Gaming Association, will tackle state lawmakers on gambling issues when the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States rally at Harrah’s Las Vegas from January 9 to January 11.

Fahrenkopf will concentrate on issues associated with enacting legislation that balances competing profits, along with social concerns linked to gaming.
