Illinois Officials Worry Over Locating Casino Close To Airport - 2004-02-11
Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan stated Tuesday that she and other law enforcement officers, as well as the Illinois Gaming Board, have worries over locating a casino in Rosemont in light of its closeness to O'Hare International Airport.

At a hearing, the lawyer suspected that Emerald Casino officials had sold 5 percent of the casino to friends of Rosemont Mayor Donald Stephens and the agreement "ensured the infiltration of organized crime into its operation."

LV firm's casino project moves forward - 2004-02-11
A plan by Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. of Las Vegas to costruct a $300 million casino complex in south St. Louis County defeated Isle of Capri's proposal Tuesday, setting up Pinnacle to establish two new casinos in the city and county.
The proposals are dealing with additional authorizations before they can move ahead.

St. Louis County Port Authority commissioners authorized the choice of Pinnacle, made by a selection committee.
