Hollywood actor in Durban to push for festival - 2004-02-13
Award-winning actor and social activist Danny Glover reaches into Durban on Thursday on the second leg of his trip to South Africa to campaign in support of an international gospel awards and festival event that is arriving in the city next year.

"Glover will be hosting the Tree of Life Gospel World Music Festival and Awards 2005 and he is in town to campaign for this event at the launch tonight at Suncoast Casino," revealed Nolene Maharaj of Mirror Public Relations.

Village notifies Welch: No agreement - 2004-02-13
Hazel Crest Village Board members have declined a resolution to back gaming in neighboring Country Club Hills, according to a village spokeswoman.
Country Club Hills Mayor Dwight Welch suggested sharing revenue if the city lands the state's final casino license. Hazel Crest could have took in a potential $700,000 each year.

Nearly 100 locals attended a meeting Tuesday to push trustees to oppose the casino, Mary Paleologos, village spokeswoman, reported.
