Nevada casino businesses continue to top tax list - 2004-02-13
The tax man cometh, but his bite is not exactly the same for everybody. The most recent taxable value of Clark County's top casino companies actually fell slightly from last year, a yearly list disclosed by the Clark County assessor's office showed.
The major taxpayers also altered status with MGM Mirage keeping its No. 1 spot on the taxable value list for Southern Nevada business, despite falling $300 million in value, but Mandalay Resort Group moved into the No. 2 spot, pushing Caesars Entertainment to No. 3.

Barbican traffic disorder 'looming - 2004-02-13
Residents are concerned traffic disorder is threatening around York's Barbican Centre on concert nights, if it is redeveloped according to recent plans.

The Kent Street car park, which is lowered in size as part of the scam, will also cater for people using the new community swimming pool and fitness suite, the new Barbican lounge bar - and inevitably even patrons at a planned casino.
