The Merton Partnership Against Crime (MPAC) is warning locals against the scheme, which features would-be thieves installing a device on to cash machines.
* Verify the machine to see if there is anything wedged on it or if anything else appears out of place. Slide your finger along the slot for your card. If there is something unusual about the device, don't use the machine.

* If your card is not given back by the cash machine, report it to your card issuer right away.

Gamblers will be betting $200 at minicasinos shortly - 2004-02-13
The Washington State Gambling Commission voted Thursday to multiply the maximum wager by two at minicasinos to $200.
The move was supported by minicasinos owners, who had wanted the change, but it rankled some strong state legislators and may have touched off a turf war between the commission and the Legislature.

Chiechi's group, which represents non-tribal gambling businesses, petitioned the commission last July to bolster the maximum bets for hands of blackjack and other card games to $300.
