Widows honor victims of AC disaster - 2004-02-03
It was a study in contrast: On one hand the Tropicana Casino and Resort's collapsed parking garage, police officers were preparing to open a stretch of Pacific Avenue that had been shut down since the accident.

On the other hand, the widows of two men killed in the Oct. 30 collapse gathered near a chain-link fence bedecked with flowers, a heart-shaped "I love you" balloon and a painting portraying the men.

Casino constructor gets job close to Vegas - 2004-02-03
The company that contructed the new Indian casino in Placer County has signed a contract for additional casino work, this time close to Las Vegas.

Perini Building Co. revealed Tuesday that it has signed a deal with Station Casinos Inc., developer and operator of the Thunder Valley Casino for the United Auburn Indian Community in Placer.
