2 candidates for director of casino authority - 2004-02-03
Cherry Hill native Curtis Bashaw is one of two finalists to take the place of James Kennedy as executive director of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.
Gov. James E. McGreevey stated Monday that he intends to disclose his choice by week's end. He refused to identify the other candidate.

Casinos pay 1.25 percent of their gross gaming earnings to the authority for use in a range of developments, from housing in Atlantic City to a baseball field in Camden.

NY Leaders Urge for Casino In The Heart Of Buffalo - 2004-02-03
State, congressional and city leaders are heating up efforts to convince the Seneca Nation to reject plans for a new casino in Cheektowaga and instead refocus on the downtown Buffalo Convention Center.

Besides attracting the Senecas, the officials also are attempting to change the minds of opponents, including County Executive Joel A. Giambra.
Over the past year or so, Giambra has stopped efforts for a casino at the convention center, which the county owns.
