Strife divides tribe - 2004-02-03
The fighting Native Americans of Enterprise Rancheria have divided into two tribes.
About 50 tribal members who were disenrolled a few months prior have created their own tribe - Indians of Enterprise No. 1.

The tribe, based in Oroville, is attempting to win federal and state authorization for a hotel-casino in Yuba County, which it declares is part of its aboriginal territory.

Super Bowl sparks increase in gambling - 2004-02-03
Sports books were champions at the Super Bowl, too.
A favorable point spread given to the Carolina Panthers and a belief that the New England Patriots would win the NFL title game generated a significant rise in Super Bowl gambling.

John Avello, director of Race & Sports Book operations at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas, stated that his casinos barely had enough space to accommodate all the bettors.
